The Royal Family celebrate the King and Queen of Norway's 80th birthdays

On Tuesday 9 and Wednesday 10 May, The King and Queen, The Crown Princess Couple and The Prince Couple were in Oslo to take part in the celebrations for King Harald V's and Queen Sonja's 80th birthdays.

The festivities began on the Tuesday with a gala dinner at the Royal Palace in Oslo.

The Royal Yacht Norge was a gift from the people of Norway to the then King Haakon VII of Norway following a national collection in 1947. On the Wednesday, a lunch was held on the Royal Yacht Norge.

The evening concluded with the Norwegian Government's gift to the King and Queen, a banquet at Oslo Opera House.
